Simply Energy is an electricity and natural gas retailer in the Victorian and South Australian markets with over 400,000 residential, business, commercial and industrial customers.
Simply Energy is owned by Internation Power Australia which is now the largest private electricity generator in Australia.
A large variety of products are offered including 100% green power which includes wind generated energy.
What we've done for them
The client required a web based system to be used by in-house sales personnel and energy brokers to price quotes for the sale of electrical energy to large commercial clients. The facility had to include complex pricing calculation tools which rely on forward pricing models used widely in the energy industry. A number of web services have been included in the process including address checking pre-quote pricing. The facility has been secured for use only by authorised personnel.
Revium's solution resulted in an implementation of some complexity not only in design but the algorithms employed in the process of correctly calculating the quoted price for large consumers of electrical energy in Victoria and South Australia. The facility also produces pdf reports and documents. Today the facility is fundamental to the sales process for large consumers.
The system is still evolving to meet business and market requirements. In 2009 the solution was extended with functionality for legal clauses and a workflow component to approve clauses and overall contracts. At the same time the application was "re-skinned" to improve usability.
