Launch of the “WEB Determinations” project

Finally we recieved client approval to finalise phase 1 of the “WEB Determinations” project for “Financial Ombudsman Service”. It’s been a big effort to get it across the line with 2 months of internal and UAT testing, fixing bugs and implementing enhancements. Thanks heaps to all involved – John, Mark, Alex and myself

Having a very solid and modern technical base, the project features:

• 2 websites (for internal and public use)
• SOAP services to exchange data and files between internal and public environments
• command line tool to run batch tasks on a scheduled basis
• MS SQL 2005 and ASP.NET 3.5

Quite a few lessons were learnt from this project, first of all – to delegate more resources on internal testing. The coming launch of our new JIRA issue tracking system for external use will be also very helpful.
